World Bank’s IFC to Invest $50M in South Asia Tech Fund Creador VI

The World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) plans to make a $50M investment in Creador VI, a buyout fund focusing on middle-market technology and services companies in South and Southeast Asia.

In a statement on its web site, the IFC said the investment is pending board approval, with the board next expected to convene on November 30. The announcement follows a September 12 decision by the Asian Development Bank to invest $75M in the fund, which is currently fundraising against a target of $800M.

Creador is a Malaysia-based private equity firm that focuses on investments in South and Southeast Asia. It has $3B in assets under management and has invested in 54 companies to date through the six funds it has launched since 2011.
