Goldman, McKinsey Alums Launch New GP Stakes Firm PACT Capital

A pair of founders formerly affiliated with Goldman Sachs and McKinsey have launched independent investment firm PACT Capital, which aims to “provide capital and strategic support to middle-market alternative asset management firms.”

PACT Capital will seek to collaborate with middle-market private capital firms as strategic partners and will use a proprietary platform called imPACT in providing strategic and capital solutions to partner firms. At launch, the firm said it won strategic anchor investments from Reinsurance Group of America and London-based global investor Sackville Capital, with Sackville planning to provide additional strategic and operational support and access to its international network.

The New York-based firm is led and co-founded by Managing Partner Christian von Schimmelmann, previously global co-head and investment committee co-chair of the GP stakes and seeding business at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for over 25 years. He is joined by Brian Vickery from McKinsey’s private capital practice as partner, and Jonathan Snider as CFO and chief compliance officer, formerly from GTIS Partners and Goldman Sachs.
