ClearBridge Energy Midstream Opportunity Fund said that portfolio manager Chris Eades will be retiring and is set to step down as a member of the fund’s management team by the end of the year, according to a September 26 press release.

Eades’ retirement will end a career of over 30 years in equity research and portfolio management which began at NatWest Securities in 1993. He had joined ClearBridge Investments in 2007 as managing director and portfolio manager, with a four-year stint as director of research in 2009.

ClearBridge PMs Peter Vanderlee and Patrick McElroy will continue to manage the closed-end MLP strategy. The fund is managed by Franklin Templeton Fund Adviser and sub-advised by ClearBridge, both subsidiaries of investment firm Franklin Templeton.
