Aussie Manager MA Financial Launches US Specialty Credit Income Fund

MA Financial Group on December 17 announced the launch of closed-end MA Specialty Credit Income Fund that will target private credit assets in the US.

The interval fund will be continuously offered, with an aim to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns as it capitalizes on opportunities asset-based lending, specialty finance and co-lending. According to its prospectus filed with the SEC, at least 80% of the fund's assets will be invested in private loans, credit facilities, and credit-related investments.

The fund's launch marked the Australia-listed MA Financial's maiden offering of an investment vehicle in North America. The global alternative asset manager's global credit platform accounts for $4.3B of its $6.8B total AUM.

Distribution Services, through ACA Global, is overseeing the distribution of the fund. The ongoing offering comprises class S and class F shares, with the minimum initial investment set at $1M for the S shares and $2.5K for regular accounts and $1K for retirement plan accounts subscribing for F shares.
