In August, four US public pension systems disclosed 2026 and 2027 pacing plans totaling $5.98B in target commitments. Private equity and private credit drew the largest target allocations at roughly $3.51B and $1.7B, respectively, alongside real assets pacings totaling $750M and a general $18M private markets allocation intended to be split between two managers.

On the search front, Dakota tracked 22 institutional searches this month across 19 allocators, representing at least $16B in disclosed mandates, of which two are euro-denominated mandates from Ircantec for OECD inflation-linked and green/social bond managers. Twelve searches remain open, while 10 have since closed, including Illinois Police Officers$250M opportunistic private credit search; Korea Military Mutual Aid Association's $213M search for managers of domestic PE/VC blind funds; Watertown Retirement’s $15M international equity search; private equity manager searches from Massachusetts-based pensions Boston Retirement, Quincy Retirement, and Plymouth County; and co-investment searches by Weymouth Retirement and Italian pension Enpav. Oklahoma Firefighters had also launched a large-cap value search for an undisclosed mandate amount.
