Early stage venture capital firm Tamarack Global announced a $72M close on the second fund in its flagship Opportunities series, bringing total AUM to over $211M.
Opportunities II is more than double the size of its predecessor 2019 vintage fund, which raised $31.3M and invested an additional $55M by way of co-investments. The new fund will employ a similar approach, investing in a portfolio of early seed and Series A companies across the energy, transition, defense-tech, space economy, robotics and aviation, and artificial intelligence segments.
Tamarack said the second fund has already deployed capital into a number of companies, including Blue Energy, which is developing modular nuclear power plants, and Impulse Space, which provides in-space transportation services for low-earth-orbit satellites. Other portfolio investments include Figure AI, CHAOS Industries, Rainmaker Technology Corp., Rilian Technologies, Terminal, Fuse Energy, and Earth AI.
