Abbott acquired Exact Sciences for approximately $21 billion, gaining a leading portfolio of cancer screening and diagnostics products including Cologuard, Oncotype DX, and Cancerguard. The deal adds a significant new growth vertical for Abbott in the $60 billion U.S. cancer screening and precision oncology diagnostics market.
Thermo Fisher Scientific acquired Clario Holdings for $8.875 billion, gaining a leading clinical trial endpoint data platform that has supported approximately 70% of FDA drug approvals over the past decade. The deal bolsters Thermo Fisher's digital and data capabilities, adding Clario's AI-driven suite of tools — spanning medical imaging, cardiac solutions, and wearable data capture — to accelerate drug development for pharma and biotech customers.
Merck agreed to acquire Terns Pharmaceuticals for approximately $6.7 billion, gaining TERN-701, an investigational oral allosteric BCR::ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor in Phase 1/2 development for chronic myeloid leukemia. The deal expands Merck's hematology pipeline with a potentially best-in-class CML therapy showing early promise in patients who have failed prior treatments.
Brookfield and La Caisse agreed to acquire Canadian renewable energy company Boralex for approximately $3.8 billion in equity ($9.0 billion enterprise value), taking the TSX-listed company private at $37.25 per share. The deal gives Boralex access to long-term capital and operational scale to accelerate development of its 8.2 GW pipeline of wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Canada, the U.S., France, and the U.K.
Apollo-managed funds agreed to acquire Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) in Apollo's largest private equity investment in Japan to date, totaling approximately $3.7 billion in enterprise value. The deal will strengthen NSG's balance sheet and fund growth initiatives across its architectural, automotive, and solar glass businesses, with NSG's principal lenders also converting a portion of outstanding loans to equity as part of the transaction.
Aligned Data Centers closed a $2.58 billion revolving credit facility backed by insurance, pension fund, and other institutional capital to fuel continued expansion of its U.S. data center portfolio. The facility is secured by six existing U.S. assets and is structured to finance later-stage development projects, giving Aligned additional flexibility to scale capacity for hyperscale, AI, and HPC customers.
Berkshire Hathaway acquired a 2.49% stake in Japanese insurer Tokio Marine Holdings for approximately $1.8 billion through its reinsurance subsidiary National Indemnity, with the option to increase its position to 9.9% through open-market purchases. The deal establishes a strategic partnership focused on reinsurance collaboration and global M&A, deepening Berkshire's ongoing commitment to Japanese investments under new CEO Greg Abel.
Gilead Sciences agreed to acquire Ouro Medicines for $1.675 billion upfront plus up to $500 million in milestone payments, gaining OM336 (gamgertamig), a clinical-stage BCMAxCD3 T cell engager showing early promise in severe autoimmune diseases including autoimmune hemolytic anemia and immune thrombocytopenia. Gilead also plans to enter a co-development collaboration with Galapagos, which would share 50% of costs and handle development through registrational studies in exchange for royalties on future net sales.
VINCI Highways agreed to acquire the Safeway Concessions portfolio from Macquarie Asset Management for approximately 150 billion Indian rupees (~15x EBITDA), gaining nine toll highway concessions spanning nearly 700 kilometers across Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat with contractual maturities running through 2048–2058. The deal marks VINCI's entry into India's highway market and gives the company a platform to drive operational improvements and capitalize on the country's transition to a free-flow toll digitalization system.
Jacobs completed its acquisition of the remaining stake in PA Consulting for approximately £1.2 billion ($1.6 billion) upfront plus £75 million in deferred consideration, bringing the innovation and transformation consultancy into full ownership after its initial strategic investment in 2021. The deal creates a combined end-to-end advisory and technical services platform, strengthening Jacobs' position across advanced manufacturing, life sciences, critical infrastructure, and AI-driven digital transformation.
