1. ChinData Group - Strategic Sale
Bain Capital has agreed to sell its data center portfolio company WinTriX’s China operations, known as Chindata, to a consortium led by Shenzhen Dongyangguang Industry Co. and institutional investors in a landmark US$4 billion transaction. The deal, the largest M&A in China’s data center industry to date, highlights the surging demand for hyperscale digital infrastructure supporting the country’s rapid digital transformation. Bain’s exit reflects its successful strategy of scaling next-generation infrastructure platforms and positions Chindata for continued growth under new ownership.
Mistral AI has raised €1.7 billion in a Series C round at an €11.7 billion valuation, led by semiconductor equipment giant ASML Holding NV. The funding will accelerate Mistral’s frontier AI research and the development of decentralized, industry-specific solutions for complex engineering and industrial challenges. With participation from major investors including Andreessen Horowitz, NVIDIA, and DST Global, the round reinforces Mistral’s independence while establishing a strategic partnership with ASML to drive innovation across the semiconductor and AI value chain.
3. Vantage Data Centers - Minority Investment
Vantage Data Centers has secured a $1.6 billion investment from existing backers GIC and ADIA to accelerate its Asia-Pacific expansion. The capital will fund the acquisition of Yondr’s 300MW+ hyperscale campus in Johor, Malaysia, one of Southeast Asia’s largest data center projects, bringing Vantage’s APAC footprint to 1GW of capacity. The deal underscores surging AI-driven demand for scalable, sustainable digital infrastructure across the region and strengthens Vantage’s position as a leading hyperscale provider.
Vimeo has agreed to be acquired by Bending Spoons in an all-cash deal valued at $1.38 billion, providing shareholders with $7.85 per share, a 91% premium to its recent average stock price. The transaction will take Vimeo private and is expected to close in Q4 2025, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. Under Bending Spoons’ ownership, Vimeo plans to accelerate its product roadmap with ambitious investments in enterprise, streaming, and AI-enabled features.
5. Hemlo Gold Mine - Strategic Sale
Barrick Mining has agreed to sell the Hemlo Gold Mine in Canada to Carcetti Capital Corp. (to be renamed Hemlo Mining Corp.) for up to $1.09 billion. The deal includes $875 million in cash, $50 million in HMC shares, and up to $165 million in contingent payments linked to gold production and pricing. The transaction reflects Barrick’s strategy of prioritizing Tier One gold and copper assets while returning capital to shareholders, and is expected to close in Q4 2025.
PsiQuantum has raised $1 billion in a Series E round at a $7 billion valuation to accelerate the development of million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum computers. Led by BlackRock, with participation from Temasek, Baillie Gifford, NVIDIA’s NVentures, QIA, and others, the funding will support new quantum computing sites in Brisbane and Chicago, the construction of large-scale prototypes, and the scaling of its photonic chip technology. The round positions PsiQuantum at the forefront of the global race to deliver commercially useful quantum systems, with potential applications across AI, advanced simulations, and next-generation supercomputing.
Databricks has surpassed a $4 billion revenue run-rate, with more than $1 billion driven by AI products, while sustaining annual growth above 50% and generating positive free cash flow. The company is also closing a $1 billion Series K round at a valuation exceeding $100 billion, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz, Insight Partners, Thrive Capital, and others. The new funding will advance Databricks’ AI strategy, including the launch of Agent Bricks for enterprise AI agents and Lakebase, a next-generation database optimized for AI workloads.
8. Nozomi Networks - Strategic Sale
Mitsubishi Electric has agreed to acquire Nozomi Networks, a global leader in OT, IoT, and CPS security, with Nozomi set to operate as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition builds on Mitsubishi’s prior investment in Nozomi’s $100 million Series E round and the firms’ longstanding collaboration. The deal enhances Mitsubishi Electric’s cybersecurity capabilities while enabling Nozomi to accelerate innovation in AI-powered industrial security, with no changes to its brand, leadership, or operations.
Apollo Global Management is acquiring German cooling equipment maker Kelvion from Triton in a deal valued at approximately €2 billion ($2.3 billion). To support the transaction, JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, and other lenders are providing €750 million ($879 million) in debt financing structured as floating-rate notes. The acquisition reflects Apollo’s continued expansion into industrials, backed by significant leveraged financing.
Sonoco will sell its ThermoSafe temperature-assured packaging unit to Arsenal Capital Partners for up to $725 million, including $650 million at close and up to $75 million contingent on 2025 performance. The divestiture, expected to close by year-end 2025 pending approvals, supports Sonoco’s portfolio shift toward metal and fiber packaging. Net proceeds will be used to reduce debt, with leverage projected to decline to about 3.5x post-close, excluding the earnout.
