Vesper Infrastructure's First “Next Gen” Fund Tops €570M at First Close

Milan- and London-based Vesper Infrastructure Partners said its Vesper Next Generation Infrastructure Fund I surpassed €570M (~$598.6M) in AUM at the first close of what it is targeting to be an €800M fundraise.

The close-end fund's AUM comprises capital linked to co-investment vehicles and commitments from LPs, including Generali Lion River, Mediobanca, Italian pensions funds and other international family offices. The European Investment Fund also participated in the fundraising with an initial InvestEU-backed pledge of €75M (~$78.8M).

Fund I targets opportunities in clean, digital and decentralized energy; decarbonized mobility and connected logistics; data-centric, low latency digital infrastructure; and sustainable, circular healthy living solutions. So far, it has used capital for the joint acquisition of medical diagnostic imaging platform RAD-x and biogas and biomethane operator EAG Bioenergy.

Established in 2023, Vesper Infrastructure capitalizes on mid-cap opportunities in the infrastructure sector of Europe. In a news release announcing the first close milestone, the manager said its founding partners have executed more than €350B (~$367.61B) of infrastructure transactions and have more than 120 years of combined industry experience.
