Texas Municipal Discloses Nearly $287M in New Commitments

The Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) recently committed a total of nearly $287M across private equity, global equities, and private credit, according to documents from its September 19 board meeting.

The commitments include $36.75M to the HarbourVest TMRS Polaris SMA, which focuses on private equity and real assets infrastructure, $100M to MW TOPS World Equities, a global equities strategy, and $150M to Bandera Strategic Credit Partners I, a private credit debt fund. All of these investments represent ongoing relationships for TMRS.

As of June 30, TMRS had allocated 12% of its portfolio to private equity, with a target of 13%, 12.4% to private debt, also against a target of 13%, and 35.8% to global equities, in line with its target. According to Dakota data, TMRS oversees approximately $41.1B in assets.
