Goldman Launches New Infrastructure Fund for Wealthy Investors

Goldman Sachs’ alternative investment arm announced the launch of a new open-ended global infrastructure strategy aimed at professional investors, including qualified individuals, that will have both US- and Luxembourg-registered versions.

The firm said G-INFRA will expand access to its $500B alternatives platform to a wider group of investors, accessible both to its private wealth clients and to other wealth investors through an exclusive distribution agreement with HSBC Global Private Banking. The strategy will target investments in directly originated core-plus value-add private infrastructure in the mid-market, as well as secondaries and liquid assets.

It is the latest open-ended alternatives strategy targeting wealthy investors, following on offerings in private credit, real estate, and private equity. In a statement announcing the new strategy, Henry Willans, head of infrastructure for vintage strategies in Goldman’s alternatives unit said, “The development of the private infrastructure market is creating opportunities for secondaries investors to provide liquidity solutions and gain access to mature, cash-flowing infrastructure assets.”
