Apollo Global Management is in discussions with banks, bourses, and financial technology firms as it explores a plan to develop a marketplace for private credit assets, Bloomberg reported February 5, citing Apollo Capital Solutions head Eric Needleman.
Needleman said the talks with potential partners "have been highly constructive at the highest levels." The executive added that the goal is to build a marketplace that is "open architecture, collaborative, and built for scale." Such a marketplace would allow the alternative asset management company to trade and syndicate the debt it originates. It would also make it easier for investors to trade high-grade private assets.
Under its credit strategy, Apollo offers corporate credit and fixed income, direct lending, structured credit and real estate solutions, among other products. It managed $598B of assets under the strategy as of the end of the third quarter of 2024.
