Canadian private equity investment manager Longbow Capital has raised more than half of its $250M initial target in the first close of its second energy transition fund.
Longbow Energy Transition Fund II collected $150M in capital commitments from institutional and family investors, including BDC Capital, TD Bank Group, and Caterpillar Ventures as anchor investors. The fund will invest in North American businesses that provide services in lowering carbon emissions and has made one investment in low-carbon modular power generation business VoltaGrid.
Longbow specializes in energy services investments especially related to low-carbon emission solutions and power production. The firm said it oversees approximately $1.5B in AUA across its energy funds.
