LA Fire & Police Conclude Private Equity and Real Estate Searches

The Los Angeles Fire & Police Pension System has closed on three private equity and two private real estate funds. 

Materials from the July 21 board meeting disclose three venture capital investments. $20 million was invested with Pear Ventures IV, $14.5 million with MaC Ventures Fund II, and $15 million in Brewer Lane Ventures Fund II.

In private real estate, $75 million was allocated to each value-add fund, EQT Exeter Industrial Value Fund VI and Abacus Multi-Family Partners VI. 

As of June 30, 2022, the $28 billion Pension System has a 17.66% allocation to private equity managers, and a 13.1% allocation to real estate. The investment policy targets to private equity and real estate are 14% and 10% respectively.
