Carlyle secured $7.1B in capital commitments at the final close of its Credit Opportunities Fund III, marking its largest credit fundraiser to date.
The global investment firm's third credit opportunities fund received commitments of $5.7B from various global institutions, including new and existing investors in its credit opportunities fund series, which has a total investable capital of $17B.
Credit Opportunities Fund III surpassed its predecessor by nearly 30%. To date, it has invested or committed $2.4B in 25 opportunities in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Similar to other funds in the series, it targets the sports and entertainment, residential real estate, technology, business, and financial services sectors.
As of September 30, Carlyle's global credit platform accounted for $197B of the firm's total AUM of $447B.
