The Weymouth Retirement System has issued an RFP for a manager specializing in value-added, opportunistic real estate funds.
The Weymouth, MA-based pension says it is seeking to invest up to $10M is such a strategy and will only consider closed-end funds. Core and core-plus strategies and standalone distressed mandates will not be considered, but the board said it will consider either private real estate investment funds that make direct investments or a fund of funds.
The board added that it expects to make between $5M and $10M in commitments, and depending on the responses it receives, it may allocate its commitments to more than one manager.
According to Dakota data, Fiducient Advisors serves as consultant to the Weymouth Retirement System, which holds $260M in assets.
