The City of Baltimore Employees’ Retirement System (ERS) has interviewed two candidates to its alternatives consultant search, per recently released minutes from its January 6 board meeting.
The pension board unanimously carried a motion to interview Meketa Investment Group and RVK at its January 16 session for the search first issued in August last year. The selected consultant will be responsible for administering the pension’s alternatives investment portfolio, which carries a combined 19% target weight in private equity and private credit, with an additional 9% policy target in private equity from OPEB Trust.
Meketa is serving out a term as the current private equity consultant for Baltimore ERS, following the pension’s approval of a one-year extension with the consultant in December 2023, as reported by Dakota on February 21, 2024. To date, Baltimore ERS manages total pension assets of approximately $2.1B.
