South Carolina Commits $275M to Hedge Fund, Venture Capital

The South Carolina Retirement System has approved two alternative commitments totalling $275 million.

A $200 million allocation was made to Bayview MSR Opportunity Domestic Fund, a hedge fund managed by Bayview Asset Management.

Additionally, $75 million was allocated to Industry Ventures Partnership Holdings VII, an early stage venture capital fund within private equity, managed by Industry Ventures.

As of December 31, 2023, the $42.47 million retirement fund allocates 11.7% to hedge funds and 13.1% to private equity.
