Report: Hopkins Lands New CIO Barry from Georgetown

The CIO of Georgetown University’s investment office is transferring to Johns Hopkins University as VP and investments chief of the $13B endowment, according to multiple media reports.

Michael Barry will assume the CIO role at Hopkins in February, following a monthslong search by the Baltimore-based university to replace former CIO Jason Perlioni, who stepped down in June of last year. Barry served as investments chief at Georgetown for 14 years, where he was responsible for the management of the university’s approximately $3.7B endowment. He is based in Maryland and is an alumnus of Johns Hopkins.
