LA Fire & Police Commits $65M to Private Equity

The Los Angeles Police & Fire Pension System disclosed two commitments to private equity totalling $65M in minutes from its September 19 board meeting.

Searchlight Capital IV, a middle market buyout fund strategy, received a $50M allocation, and Fika Ventures IV, an early stage venture capital fund managed by Fika Ventures, received a $15M commitment.

According to its August monthly report, the pension fund has a total of $33B in assets, allocating 16.6% to private equity against a target of 15%.
