NY State Teachers Commits $300M to Private Equity

The New York State Teachers Retirement System has committed $300 million to two private equity funds, according to meeting materials from the April board meeting.

$100 million was allocated to the buyout fund, Amulet Capital Fund III, managed by Amulet Capital Partners. In addition, $200 million was allocated to the buyout fund, GTCR Fund XIV, managed by GTCR.

As of December 31, 2022, the retirement system allocates 10.7% to private equity, while they target 9.0%.
