J.F. Lehman Closes Sixth Flagship Fund at Firm-record $2.2B

J.F. Lehman & Co raised $2.2B at the close of its latest flagship fund, JFL Equity Investors VI, marking the largest fundraise in the firm’s 33-year history.

With a target of $1.6B, the fund was significantly oversubscribed, garnering support from new and existing partners of the middle-market private equity firm that specializes in the aerospace, defense, maritime, government, and environmental sectors. According to Dakota data, significant investors in the fund include the New York State Common Retirement Fund, with a $200M commitment, and the Connecticut state pension, with a $150M investment. 

The newly closed fund increased J.F. Lehman's assets under management to $7B as of November 30. J.F. Lehman tapped UBS Securities and Davis Polk & Wardwell as the fund's placement agent and legal adviser, respectively.
