Howard County (MD) to Select MFS as EAFE Manager

A sub-committee of the Howard County Master Trust Retirement Plan investment committee is recommending selection of MFS International Equity to manage the pension’s Europe, Australia, and Far East (EAFE) strategy.

According to recently published materials from its September 18 committee meeting, the sub-committee conducted interviews with Fidelity Diversified International, MFS International Equity, and MFS International Equity strategies as part of an ongoing search for an EAFE growth manager to replace Baillie Gifford Developed EAFE All Cap Fund. Following the presentations, the sub-committee said it will recommend hiring MFS. The full committee is expected to meet next on October 18.

The Maryland pension said total plan assets were $1.55B as of June 30 and experienced an investment gain of $13.5M in the second quarter.
