Former Aurelius managing director Peter Wood announced in a LinkedIn post the launch of his new London-based private equity firm covering corporate carveouts in the UK and Ireland.
Splitstone Capital will focus on carveout deals with “complexity,” such as those involving businesses in mature markets, necessitating ESG or operational transitions, or characterized by low margins, separation complexity, incomplete management teams, and complex customer/supplier relationships. The firm will seek equity investments of up to £20M in high-potential portfolio companies, especially in the industrial and business services sectors, with annual revenues in the £20M to £100M range or higher, and valued at up to £100M.
Wood founded the firm in partnership with Steven Clark, founder of fellow London-based multi-asset manager Omni Advisory Limited. Splitstone said it may potentially invest in operations outside of the UK and Ireland in the future.
