The Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) committed $1.16B across six alternative investment funds, including $500M to a NISA fixed income SMA and $200M to I Squared’s global infrastructure fund. PSERS also sold $935M worth of private equity funds in a secondary market deal. Boston Retirement System (BRS) allocated $40M to infrastructure investments, split between Macquarie and Blackstone, while also committing $10M to Integrum Capital Partners II. Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Retirement System adjusted its asset mix, increasing private equity and US large-cap equities while reducing small-cap and emerging market equity allocations. CalSTRS renewed its contract with Meketa as general investment consultant, while Colorado PERA is set to launch an RFP for a new consultant, aiming to award the contract by year-end.
Fairman Financial appointed Shawn Kindt as managing partner, succeeding founder Roy Fairman, who will continue advising legacy clients. Australian wealth manager Perpetual Private added Osmosis’ Resource Efficient Core Equity Fund to its responsible investment multi-manager program, committing AUD 60M ($37.6M). Perpetual aims to leverage factor exposures to enhance returns while aligning with sustainable investment principles.
Oakley Capital closed its sixth flagship buyout fund oversubscribed at €4.5B ($4.86B), surpassing its predecessor’s €2.85B close. The fund targets European middle-market businesses in technology, education, digital consumer, and business services. Pike Street Capital raised $199M for an Impel-focused continuation fund, with backing from NorthSands Capital, Painswick Capital, and Ares Management. The firm focuses on fluid management solutions across industrial sectors.
Morgan Stanley hired Sona Menon from Cambridge Associates to lead its $184B OCIO business, where she will oversee investment management for wealth and institutional clients. Mesirow expanded its alternative credit team following its Bastion Management acquisition, adding Nick Paidas, Serbia Rindlefish, and Bryce Labonski to its roster. CAIS launched the CAIS Models Marketplace, integrating alternative asset manager model portfolios from firms like BlackRock, Carlyle, and KKR, providing multi-asset solutions to advisors. Northern Trust Asset Management appointed Tim Brown as head of UK sales, leveraging his 25 years of industry experience to expand its institutional footprint in the UK.
