Report: Azets Wealth Signs Deal to Buy British Advisor Laurus Associates

Azets Wealth Management has reportedly entered into a deal to acquire financial planning firm Laurus Associates, according to multiple media outlets.

The eight-person Laurus team, led by founders Karen Barwick and Colin Dawson, will join Azets and further expand its Newcastle, UK, headquarters. Financial terms and consideration of the transaction were not disclosed.

Azets CEO Mark Parkinson said the deal reflects a “cultural alignment” between the two firms and that Azets will “benefit significantly” from the Laurus team’s “experience and specialized approach.” It follows the firm’s recent acquisition of Scotland-based wealth management and chartered accountancy firm Milne Craig.
