Ohio SERS Commits $200M to Private Equity, ETF Allocation

The School Employees’ Retirement System of Ohio (OHSERS) approved $200M in commitments across two funds within private equity and ETF portfolios, the pension disclosed in recently published highlights from its September meeting.

Within the private equity portfolio, OHSERS allocated $100M to TPG Capital Rise Climate II. The investment into the clean energy, middle-market buyout strategy is made up of an initial $75M commitment plus a $25M side-car co-investment. 

The pension’s board also disclosed a $100M allocation to an opportunistic ETF trading account. No other details on the investment were made available. 

Both investments will be funded via cash reserves. 

According to Dakota data, OHSERS has a market value of approximately $19B.
