Institutional Investor News

Institutional allocators were highly active in Q4 2024, led by the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with $3.7B in commitments across nine private equity, private credit, and multi-asset funds. Major deals included $3B to Trinity River Holdings and $200M to Blackstone Capital Opportunities Fund V. TRS Illinois committed $1.7B in December across private equity, real assets, global income, and diversifying strategies, including new relationships with BlackRock and JLC Infrastructure. San Mateo County, Baltimore Fire & Police, and Rhode Island State Pension also made focused allocations totaling $115.9M in venture capital, private equity, and real estate.

RIA & Wealth Channel News

M&A activity and advisor transitions remained strong across the wealth space. Northern Trust launched Family Office Solutions for UHNW clients needing multifaceted wealth services. Mission Wealth acquired Brown Wealth Management ($240M AUM), and Cary Street Partners added Keene & Dorchak Investment Advisors ($202M AUM) in Texas. Other notable deals include Align Impact’s acquisition of Conscious Endeavors ($113M AUM), Raymond James recruiting a $740M Alaska team, LPL Financial onboarding $450M Horizon Capital Advisors, and Savvy Advisors expanding its national advisor team.

Private Fund News

Private fund managers attracted capital across climate, energy, and infrastructure. Investindustrial closed its oversubscribed eighth flagship fund at €4B ($4.44B), and Suma Capital raised €250M for a continuation fund backing Spanish waste manager Gestcompost, with support from Partners Group. Schroders Capital secured a $100M anchor investment from Apple for its China renewable energy fund. NGP Energy Capital launched a $100M mineral and royalty platform, and Ocampo Capital closed a consumer venture fund supporting early-stage wellness and sustainability startups.
