London Pensions Fund Authority Appoints New CEO

The London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) has named a new chief executive officer to succeed Robert Branagh, starting in April.

Jo Donnelly is set to take on the executive role at LPFA from a four-year tenure at London’s Local Government Association (LGA), where she most recently served as head of pensions. Prior to LGA, she served in multiple roles across three other UK government offices since 2002, including as senior policy advisor for public services pensions at HM Treasury and policy manager for National Health Service pensions at the Department of Health and Social Care. Donnelly is also secretary to the Scheme Advisory Board of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

Branagh stepped down as CEO in October last year after over six years with the London pension, and is now “taking a break from full time work.” The LPFA is an administering authority of LGPS, and manages approximately £8B (~$9.9B) in total assets.
