The State University Retirement System of Illinois approved a commitment of €50 million to real estate, according to a recent press release.
€50 million (approximately $54 million) was invested in Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe VII.
This represents a continued relationship for the fund, previously investing in Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe Fund VI. Blackstone currently manages $300 million of Illinois SURS assets within their real assets and private equity portfolios.
As of June 30, 2023, the $23.3 billion pension fund allocates $2.6 billion, roughly 11.2%, to real assets.
