Chicago Municipal Allocates $25M to Real Estate

The Municipal Employees Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago approved the allocation of $25 million to Mesirow Financial Real Estate Value Fund V, according to minutes from the February 22nd Board meeting. 

This allocation represents a continuation of an existing relationship for MEABF, having previously invested in Mesirow Real Estate Value Fund II, Partnership Fund V, and Capital Partners X. 

As of March 31, 2024, the $4.5 billion pension fund allocates approximately 5.4% to real estate with a target allocation of 9%.
