Cambridge Retirement Selects Emerging Markets and International Equity Managers

The Cambridge Retirement System has made hires for their emerging markets equity and international equity search, according to recently released minutes from the August 3 meeting.

Emerging Markets Equity Search

Aberdeen and RBC were hired for the emerging markets equity search. Aberdeen was the current emerging markets manager, and both Aberdeen and RBC interviewed at the August 3 meeting. The emerging markets equity sleeve will be split accordingly: 45% of the emerging markets sleeve (approximately $70 million) will be allocated to the Mellon Emerging Markets Index Fund, and 27.5% (approximately $42 million) will be allocated to each of Aberdeen and RBC.

International Equity Search

Acadian was hired for the international equity mandate. Funds from the RBC (Polaris) account (approximately $53 million) will be transferred to Acadian. Aristotle, Marathon, and Trinity Street also interviewed at the meeting for the mandate.

The $1.7 billion Retirement System’s consultant, Segal Marco, assisted with the searches.
