The Alberta Investment Management Corporation recently introduced it’s Energy Transition Opportunities Pool (ETOP).
ETOP is a $1 billion fund dedicated to investing in the global energy transition and decarbonization sectors.
The $1 billion in ETOP is new capital, supplementing the climate investments already made. As of December 31, 2022 the $160 billion pension fund has allocated over $16 billion to green investments across asset classes.
ETOP will invest in a variety of energy transition opportunities including industrial decarbonization, sustainable solutions, renewable fuels, low-carbon renewable energy production and related technologies, and electrification.
