Dakota partnered with Millennium Bridge Capital in 2020, to raise capital for the firm’s second fund. The fund plans to have its first close at the end of October 2020, with already in excess of $75 million in commitments (as of 9.30.2020).

Millennium Bridge Capital is a private equity investment specialist, with a multi-manager co-investment approach. The firm focuses on the North American lower middle market, primarily through direct or indirect buy-out or control investments. Millennium Bridge’s strategy of combining traditional private equity fund of funds investing with systematic co-investment has historically produced top decile performance, with more favorable all-in fees than direct fund investing.
Millennium Bridge has extensive experience in private equity, initially managing the private equity program of a large state sovereign wealth pool. The firm also has a long-standing relationship with one of the leading private equity focused law firms, which provides it with ongoing intelligence and deal flow. The firm has a 14-year track record of successful private market investments, and the firm’s founder has over 35 years of private equity experience.
Millennium Bridge Capital (formerly Cheyenne Capital) was founded in 2002 and is located in Denver, Colorado.
Millennium Bridge is currently raising $275 million in commitments for its MBC Private Equity Fund II, with an expected first close in the third quarter of 2020. The fund will continue the firm’s focus on North American Small and Middle Market (SMM) buy-out investing, with an expected allocation of about 50% to underlying high quality managers, and the other 50% to select co-investment opportunities. The strategy is appropriate for investors who do not have access to top-tier funds or co-investment opportunities, or investors who have some private equity exposure but seek additional diversification.
Fund II is targeting net returns of 18% +, with potential additional co-investment opportunities.
14-year history of top decile performance as compared to funds-of-funds of the same vintage year – created over $1.1 billion of total portfolio value on $263 million evergreen commitment anchored by a large state sovereign wealth pool.
With proven network and expertise – generated 3.13x gross MOIC over 28 SMM co-investments (including unrealized value).
Lower fees than direct private equity fund investing – estimated all-in blended rate of 1.78% management fees and 18.5% carried interest.
