Fixed Income Allocation
  • The investment team internally approved an investment in Brandywine, which will diversify the existing Core Plus portfolio. The expected investment amount is $125 million to $175 million.
  • WRS approved an increase of $220 million to the SSGA US Government Bond Index Strategy
Private Markets Portfolio
  • Continue to use Fund of One’s to implement Private Equity and Real Assets, while sourcing Private Debt internally
  • Historically, WRS planned $70 million per year to Private Debt. Pacing was increased to $300 million in 2020 due to no commitments made in 2019. Pacing was at $130 million for 2021 with no additional commitments in 2021. WRS is planning to return to the pacing level of $70 million in 2022.
  • WRS approved a $15 million re-up with Clearlake Capital for WRS Opportunities Fund III, the fund-of-one program with Abbott Capital.
Marketable Alternatives
  • WRS invested $50 million in the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust (SPUT) on October 18.
